Good morning Rabbosai. Pasuk lamed aleph. Vyochlu mipri darkam. Those who Rachmana litzlan rejected Torah, vyochlu mipri darkam. That they will eat the fruit of the path that they charted in life. Umimo'atzosaihem yisbau. And they'll be sated from their own counsels. What does that mean? Vyochlu mipri darkam. עכשיו אומר נגד הארבע דברים corresponding to the four areas that they spurned. So they'll suffer consequences corresponding to each of these four. The four were the same that the Gaon was reviewing yesterday in pasuk kaf tes: the chochmah, the yiras Hashem, the eitzah, the tochachah. So vyochlu mipri darkam.
Vehaynu.
Maybe we'll just finish the Gaon to the end of the pasuk and then try to comment. Umimo'atzosaihem yisbau.
So what will the result be? What's the negative consequence going to be? That yisbau me'atzosam. So kimedumeh, I'm not positive about this, but kimedumeh that the Gaon here is calling attention to what actually is there is just a mashmaus in the pasuk like this when he quotes the pasuk of That what will be done to a person is basically what his hands, the output of his hands, that's what will be done to a person. So the mashmaus lichora Rabbosai is not only that the consequences are commensurate to what the person did. But the mashmaus lichora is, and that's what the pasuk itself is that cheit, it's not sort of that miraculously there's negative consequence or punishment in the aftermath of cheit, but that cheit itself has that deleterious effect. Again just to try to explain what we're talking about. Let's say you have someone who, despite the fact that who's a chain smoker. Whatever, he disregards all the Surgeon General's warnings on the packs of cigarettes and he's a chain smoker. He smokes several packs a day. And then a few years down the road he takeh comes down with lung disease. Maybe it's lung cancer, maybe some other lung disease. So how do we interpret the cause and effect here? We interpret: well, miraculously he was punished for his reckless behavior of smoking. Or we say no, that's how Hakadosh Baruch Hu created the world, that there are natural consequences to what we do. Hakadosh Baruch Hu created the world that way. If I close my eyes and I don't... where I'm going, I'll walk into a wall and I'll bang myself, and it'll hurt. That's not sort of Hakadosh Baruch Hu intervening to impose a punishment. That's just embedded in the briah. So the Nefesh Hachaim explains, right? The Gaon's talmid explains in שער אלף פרק יב that the same way that there's a, that we see in the briah on the natural level a natural cause and effect, there's a spiritual cause and effect also that in the briah. And the same way naturally, again, if we pollute the air, so then we breathe in air which is unhealthy. If a person is a chain smoker, it can naturally result rachmana litzlan in lung disease. Hakadosh Baruch Hu created the world that on a spiritual, metaphysical level, our chata'im have that same type of natural fallout and natural consequence. And lechora the pshat here, that's what the mashma'us is, that Vayochlu mipri darkam. That's the ra that will come their way, imposed or superimposed? No, it's going to be a, it's going to be the natural result. It's the Vayochlu mipri darkam. It's Umimoatzoseihem yisba'u. And yitachen that's what the Gaon has in mind by quoting the גמול ידיו יעשה לו, that it's he's going to be affected by what he himself has done. So the Vayochlu mipri darkam corresponds to the lada'as chochma. Instead of having chochma to guide and steer them on the derech hatov, so they're going to stumble along their own derech with all of the consequences of that. Vayochlu mipri darkam, Umimoatzoseihem yisba'u. And similarly they'll be sated with the fallout from their own eitzos, having spurned the eitzah of beni im yifatucha as we had earlier. What's the next pasuk? Ki meshuvat psayim,
If a person is aware of Ol Malchus Shamayim, if a person's aware of Hakadosh Baruch Hu, if a person is aware of one's relationship to Hakadosh Baruch Hu, so then mimmela a person is going to have a perennial sense of Yiras Hashem, of Yiras Shamayim. Vehepech zeh, the antithesis of this, is One who goes rebelliously and just follows his, I don't know, his urges, his emotions, bederech libo. So apparently the Gaon understands the word meshuvat here in this pasuk, again, as similar to the word shovav, which the meforshim explain connotes mered. So the meridah, the rebelliousness of the psayim tahargem will kill them. Who are the psayim here? Lachen neged Yiras Hashem, again, which is another one of those four areas that the person is neglecting. Ki meshuvat pesayim
lo haya mitpate. If a person is הסתכל בשלשה דברים ואי אתה בא לידי עבירה we learned the mishna recently ולפני מי אתה עתיד ליתן דין וחשבון the sof and the tachlis so lo haya mitpate. A person wouldn't be so easily drawn after the the allure of the gashmius of olam hazeh. לכן העוזבים יראת השם ונספתו but they were seduced by the allure and everything that's so illusory about olam hazeh nikraim pesayim. What does it mean that tahargem? How does that kill a person? So says the Gra it's because The zechus of yiras Hashem is a source as as the pasuk says later is a source of yiras Hashem. Meaning tahargem here means if if the person dies prematurely without that arichas yamim that he otherwise could have had would have had so that's what the pasuk is describing as tahargem. Ve-shalvas kesilim the tranquility of fools. So the the again the Gra in pasuk lamed-aleph that these two pesukim are are correspond to the four things that the person has neglected. So the fourth of here is the tochacha. ושלות כסילים הוא נגד העוזב התוכחה who forsake words of rebuke she-mochiach es ha-pesayim in the pasuk we had earlier in pasuk chaf-beish. Ve-hainu why do people want one of the reasons that people turn a deaf ear to tochacha? No they want they want to traverse be-torach. A life of Torah u-mitzvos is is a wonderful life it's a life full of simcha but it's not an easy life. It's not it's not intended to be sort of one long vacation. And and if a person doesn't want to to push himself if a person wants to coast and and just take it easy so then the person is not going to be receptive to tochacha. As the Gra is explaining the shalva of kesilim it's it's the ratzon leshev be-shalva. Again tranquility in the sense of of ease and and comfort. Ve-einam chafetzim they don't want litroach to exert themselves So the result will be that that desire for this olam hazeh yaba'adem he'll lose his olam haba. Because ultimate ultimately כי ימצא תאותו בעולם הזה if the person is seeking olam hazeh he'll find it. And since he neglects Torah he'll have undermined his olam haba ve-sofo yirash Gehenom. Maybe just to to finish the perek Ve-shomea li the one on the contrary. Who listens to me, who doesn't spurn the advice
When the tzara envelops others, he'll be secure. Vesha'anan mipachad ra'ah, vesha'anan balev, and he'll be, there will be a sense of serenity. Mipachad ra'ah, tzara, when the tzara is impending, but since the tzara will not be headed his way, so And again the Gaon explains there the symmetry here in the pesukim, והוא נגד הפחד והאיד שאמר למעלה, the pesukim that we had earlier about גם בעתכם אשחק אלעג בבחדכם, pasuk chof vav, el'ag bevachadechem. Okay, so we'll stop here. So בלי נדר אם ירצה השם we'll continue at 11:30, maybe if you could have on hand a Rambam Hilchos Megillah, a Gemara Megillah, and the first volume of the Rambam also, Sefer Hamada, and בלי נדר אם ירצה השם at 11:30 rabbosai. Okay, a good productive morning everyone, be well, be safe, im yirtzeh Hashem.
